Shows

March 29th, 2019

Now that the days are getting a lot longer we have a few events planned over the next few weeks.

Our BSPS Spring Show has moved to a new date. It will now be a two day show held on 16th and 17th April, this is the Tuesday and Wednesday of Easter week so we are hoping that the schools will be off!! The RIHS Working Hunter Pony qualifiers will be run on Tuesday 16th, all the working hunter classes are held on this day. Wednesday 17th is the Flat Showing day and includes qualifiers for CHAPS, as well as Heritage, Show Ponies and Show Hunter Ponies.

On Friday 20th April we are holding a Show Cross event, the schedule will be available on our Facebook page. The classes will include all the usual heights.

The May Bank holiday, Monday 6th, will be our unaffiliated Spring Show. Including a wide range of classes with sections for In Hand, Ridden, Working Hunter etc. Again the schedule will be available on Facebook and I will add it to the web site as soon as it is ready.

There will be a range of activities during the Easter holidays, you can find further info regarding these on Facebook or by emailing  brooksy170@yahoo.com

We hope to see you at these events and look forward to some good competitions!

Shows

February 25th, 2019

Now the worst of the winter seems to be past it is time to think about getting ponies ready for competitions! We have managed to keep quite a few activities going over the winter months with regular Show Cross events and unaffiliated Point Shows. Well done to those of you who have braved the bad weather to support these events.

On Sunday 3rd March  we have an unaffiliated Point Series show, all entries are on the day.

Sunday 10th March is the date for our BSPS Winter Show. Pre entries close on Wednesday 6th March, entries on the day at a slight additional cost.

Our Spring Show (normally held on the first Bank Holiday Monday of May) has been moved. It will now be run as a two day show with Working Hunter Classes being held on Tuesday 16th April, including RIHS qualifiers for the plaited workers. All Flat classes will be on Wednesday 17th April including CHAPS classes and the full range of BSPS ridden classes for Heritage, Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony. Depending on the weather it is probable that all these classes will be held indoors.

We are hoping that by changing the date of this show it will give people a chance to attend without the pressure of too many shows over a very hectic period, its worth a try!! The schedule for this show will be available very soon.

Please could all competitors ensure that their horses’ ‘flu’ vacs are up to date. At least 2 of the 3 injections must have been administered and horses must have been injected at least 7 days prior to the competition date. Please ensure that your passport is available for checking. Thank you for your co-operation.

AUTUMN SHOW 2018

September 3rd, 2018

Here is an update for our September activities. After a gloriously hot Summer Holidays it is now feeling slightly autumnal! Not a bad thing in view of how hard the ground has become.

We would like to congratulate our latest Ride Safe exam candidates on achieving a 100% pass rate, well done to all of you.

Jennifer has organised a few events for this month starting with an “Arena Show Cross” on Sunday 16th September. These are always very popular events with a mixture of show jumps and cross country.

We are running an “Unaffiliated Show Points Series” with shows being held during September, October and November. The presentation for the series will be held at our “Christmas Spectacular Sash Show ” on Sunday 9th December.

On Sunday 30th September we are holding a BSPS affiliated Show giving qualifiers for the 2019 Summer Championships. As this is the week before HOYS we will be adding extra’s to the arena to give competitors a chance for a pre Hoys practice!! As this show is a qualifier for NEXT years champs it will also allow you to try and gain your qualification for such competitions as the “Premier League”, something that is easily missed during the rush of trying to qualify for RIHS and HOYS!!

I hope to see as many of you as possible at our events, it is always nice to catch up at the end of the season and hear about your season.

Schedules for the above events are attached and if you need any further information check into our Facebook page.

Mid May Update

May 22nd, 2018

An update for our forthcoming activities.  We are holding an Indoor Show Cross on Sunday 27th May, starting at 9:15am with Clear Round the main schedule starts at 10:00am. With jumps starting at 30cms high going through to the final class at 1mtr high there should be a class, or two, to suit everyone! This is always a fun day with lots of jumps to try, the cafe will be open for refreshments. Schedule can be found on Facebook.

Well done to Jennifer and all the staff for becoming a BEF Accessibility Mark accredited centre.  The aim of this accreditation is to encourage more disabled people to participate in riding. To help promote this we are holding an Autism Awareness Fundraiser on Tuesday 29th May between 1pm and 4pm. You can join us at any time for a short taster ride and/or grooming session, no booking is necessary. This Open afternoon is open to all, if you would like further information you can contact us on Facebook or the office number: 01642 791027. All proceeds from any donations will be sent to the National Autistic Society.

April/May Events

April 5th, 2018

Hi All,

Attached are the latest schedules for our next events. On Sunday 22nd April we are holding an Indoor Show Cross. These are always very popular events with the chance to jump lots of jumps both show and working hunter. If you have not done this competition before it is great fun with classes for all abilities.

Our Spring Show which includes RIHS qualifiers for the plaited Working Hunter ponies has had a bit of a change. We have decided to make it a two day show running on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May, this is so that we can hold ALL the classes in the indoor arena.

Sunday 6th will be Flat Showing Day with CHAPS, SHOW PONY, SHOW HUNTER PONY and INTERMEDIATE CLASSES.

Monday 7th will have all the WORKING HUNTER PONY classes including the RI QUALIFIERS, HERITAGE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND WORKING HUNTER classes and RIDDEN HERITAGE classes.

We feel that in view of the condition of the fields that it is sensible to put all the classes onto a surface in the indoor arena, I hope this will help you to decide where you want to compete! We look forward to seeing you at these events. Schedules are below for you.  Please note due to requests we have agreed to split the Ridden Open Heritage  Mixed Height Class if we have sufficient entries.

March BSPS Show

February 22nd, 2018

At last I have been able to get back to our website, apologies for the recent lack of information, an awful lot has been happening at the riding centre over the winter.

Firstly congratulations to Jennifer and our hardworking staff who have enabled us to become a BHS “Where to Train” . This is a fantastic achievement as there are not many training centres in our locality. We have also been accepted as an examination centre for the BHS which means that candidates in the north east might not have to travel so far to take their BHS Career exams.

We are also undertaking an expansion programme so that we will be able, eventually, to offer further facilities to our clients. We are looking forward to the completion of these so that we will be able to expand our competitions etc.

The British Dressage training and competitions that have been held recently are proving very popular and we are grateful to British Dressage for including us in their venues.

Our first BSPS show of the year will be held on Sunday 11th March and will be a qualifier for the BSPS Winter Champs to be held at Arena UK over Easter. You do not have to be a member of the BSPS to compete at these shows and their are an assortment of classes including Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony, Plaited and Heritage M&M Working Hunter classes also Ridden Heritage M&M.

I have attached a schedule below that can be downloaded.

March Winter Show ’18

Our Spring Show this year is on 7th May, Bank Holiday Monday. This will include all the usual classes plus Coloured Classes for CHAPS. The Open Plaited WHP classes are again a qualifier for the RIHS. The schedule will be ready early March.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone over the coming months and if you would like any information on any of the subjects included above please get in touch.
